Winter meeting – Saturday 8th February, RAF Club, London
This was a fabulous meeting which was dedicated to the fond memory of our fallen President Dr Ian Donnan whose wife Sheila proudly attended the meeting.
The talks by Professor Mike Bagshaw, Dr Nicole Farrell, Dr Ian Wilson and Mr Jason Davenhill provided a vast array of aero-medically relevant knowledge. The talk by Squadron Leader Kevin Lawry about the V-bomber force and in particular the Vulcan was simply amazing.
Dr Marion Marshall provided the finale to our meeting with an after-dinner presentation about her experience of the Falklands together with some amazing photographs.
The icing on the cake came when Dr Simon Brown discussed his F4 Phantom Flying experience whilst stationed in the Falklands after the war and we gave a nod to the bravery of the enemy Argentine A4 Skyhawk pilots.
Summer meeting – 24th and 25th July, Gloucestershire Airport
This included a group meal on the Friday evening in Gloucester. On Saturday the attendees split into two groups, one visiting the Jet Age Museum adjacent to the airfield which included a tour of the workshop, the other having individual sessions on a Boeing 737 simulator at Simair. After lunch in the Aviator cafe the two groups swapped over. Dinner was held at the Holiday Inn Gloucester.
